About the Event

Learning Objectives:

1) Describe wireless technologies and topologies including:   - The electromagnetic spectrum to show where common technologies lie and identify places where safety to humans should be identified.  -  Different types of wireless signals and their appropriateness for different tasks -  Common wireless layouts

2) Identify the most common concerns with wireless technology including: - frequencies - stand alone versus networked solutions - challenges with wireless emergency when considering UL924 compliance and Life Safety concerns - redundancy of a physical connection between switch/luminaires/sensors/controls inputs - increasing awareness of the importance of security

3) Describe wireless benefits and opportunities addressing building trends, design trends and occupant need for increased control with a simple user interface. 4) Explore the future state of wireless including expanding feature sets and IOT.  How do we prepare and what understanding is required to move into the next phase of control with a simple user interface.
